FIFA World Cup 1994 Group E

fifa world cup 1994 posterJack Charlton's Republic of Ireland made their second successive appearance in a tight group in which all four teams finished with four points. Mexico were much more comfortable playing in the midday heat of Orlando and with 65 minutes gone, they were 2-0 up. Charlton's attempts to get water to his players during the match led to a row with officials and a fine. A goal scored by John Aldridge with six minutes to go would prove to be vital when the final standings were decided.
